Along with an active youth group (TNT) including teens to twenties, a large group of middle school, intermediate, elementary school, and kindergarten children enjoy activities, Bible lessons and a lot of fun as a part of the youth curriculum at the Oasis of Love Church. We have designed a youth-oriented program to inspire them with the Word of God and to train them for whatever God has planned for their future.
Youth Night is held every Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. The older youth, (TNT), gather to praise the Lord with music and songs with their worship band, followed by a lesson designed for youth facing every day challenges. Using interactive teaching methods, each of the children are involved, as they are able to participate in many aspects of teaching the lesson. This is a great confidence builder!
The younger children, who number about 100 each week, are not to be outdone as they also have a lively worship time, Bible lesson, and craft before going home with their newest Bible verse to memorize for the following week.
When Vacation Bible School time comes in August, the entire church works together to make this a special event during the children's summer vacation. Each teacher prepares a classroom setting depicting scenes from around the world with inspiring lessons while an outdoor obstacle course, adventure trail, hay ride, walk-thru maze or some other exciting memory for the children is created for the event on the Oasis of Love Churches over 13 acres of land.
Throughout the year the Oasis of Love Church youth participates in many outreaches and community events. They are involved with the dance and drama team and participate in the New Wine Cellar Coffeehouses, which are held the first Saturday of the month October through April. When the church packs up to spend a week of ministry at the Shippensburg Fair each July, the youth are a vital part of sharing the Gospel to a hungry world in song, dance, and testimony.
To help raise funds, you will find the youth on hand to perform community service projects at the Shippensburg Corn Festival, Shippensburg Fair, Creation Festival and also volunteer their help at Vertical Festival, Creation, and just about every time there is a project at the church in which they able to assist. The interaction between the youth with their pastors, leaders and other youth has been a terrific way to help them mature spiritually and to prepare them for God to use in His Kingdom. |
